Gratitude
With millions and billions of people that are without the basics of life, it would be insensitive to take these things fore-granted. I have everything that I need to live a full and happy life. I can appreciating these basics because I have been without a few of these at certain times in my life. I have always had access to drinking water and for that I am very grateful. I have not always had money for food however meals were available through various soup kitchens and church services. I have not always had a place to lay my head at night. I have been homeless and slept under decks or on the street. I have stayed up all night in fear that my very limited belongings would be taken. Having electricity is another convenience that a lot of us take fore-granted. You don't even realize how important electricity is until your cell phone dies and there is not a plugin to be found anywhere. Another issue for me while I was homeless.
So today I am so very grateful for everything I need. I have heard it before but it rings so true; "I may not have everything that I want but I do have everything that I need."
