Surrender

Sometimes surrender means giving up trying to understand and becoming comfortable with not knowing. I really do love this quote as it rings so true in my life.

As an addict I had to understand absolutely everything. This knowledge and understanding gave me the confidence to be able to manipulate and control everything and everyone around me. Or so I thought. Not knowing everything left me way too vulnerable and unable to function. When I finally did get clean, being vulnerable and not trying to understand everything was one of the hardest but most important steps in my recovery.
