Who Will March For Me?

It really comes down to a matter of priorities and perception. For those focused on politics and public perception, it is all about making Trump look bad and therefore the focus is on the rights of women, LGBTQ, immigrants and refugees. This is the priority, regardless of the horrors that are taking place in communities across North America. If 50,000 citizens died in one year from a communicable disease, there would be billions immediately poured into the system to curb the loss of innocent life. The fact that it is predominately addicts dying, seems to allow governments, mental health and health care systems to simply turn their heads in the hopes that eventually all the addicts will die and then they will no longer be faced with a problem. What is transpiring in our communities is equivalent to genocide and the worst human rights violation ever seen anywhere in the world. I am all about the rights of women, LGBTQ, immigrants and refugees but what about the rights of addicts? More addicts die every day than all of these groups combined in North America. Who is going to stand up for them? Why does no one care to stand up for them?
