The Power of Thoughts
"Thoughts are not the problem. Believing them is."
- Byran Katie
This is a powerful concept, especially for an struggling addict. As an addict, we are driven by the irrationality of our disease and our perception of what is required to survive. Our thoughts are typically our worst enemy, especially when we are caught in the darkness of our addiction. It is difficult to find the strength to weight the validity of our thoughts. Amidst our struggle, seeing a positive or rational perspective is difficult. The only person that it seems we can trust is ourselves and our own thoughts. Unfortunately nothing could be farther from the truth.
