Desire Replaces Gratitude
It is not the lack of something that leads to my desire, but rather, the inability to notice what I already have.
I have two choices. I can focus on what I have. Be grateful for it. Trust that God will give me all that I need. Or I can focus on that which I desire. That which I do not have. That which is often the product of envy, jealousy or lust. If I stray from my place of gratitude, it is often a short skip to my place of desire. Unfortunately there is only one of these that offer me any serenity and that is the place of gratitude.
